Sputnik-1 is the 1st human artificial satellite that was launched and maintained orbit successfully around the planet Earth. The space craft or the artificial satellite was launched from Kazakhstan under the USSR administration (Soviet Union) on October 4th 1957. It was equipped with sensors, and other electronics with batteries that kept collected measurements and data and transmits them back to earth using mores code through radio receivers for everyone on earth to receive and hear.
The painting captures how the view would have looked like from Sputnik-1 perspective. The stars field where synced to represent the stars at that time of the launch, and the earth curvature is based on the elevation of the space craft at the time. Sputnik had an elliptical orbit.
